November 13, 2002, WASHINGTON, D.C. – The federal government has declared 16 counties in Tennessee, including Bedford, Marshall, Rutherford and Sumner, a major disaster area after a series of deadly tornadoes ripped through the state this past weekend.

GAO To Investigate VA’s Handling Of Middle Tennessee Resources

November 18, 2002, WASHINGTON, D.C. – Prompted by a request from U.S. Reps. Bart Gordon and Bob Clement, the General Accounting Office has agreed to investigate the Department of Veterans Affairs handling of health-care needs for its Middle Tennessee veterans.

Middle Tennessee Burley Growers To Receive Settlement Money

November 22, 2002, WASHINGTON, D.C. – Checks totaling approximately $33.8 million will be issued at the end of the year to Tennessee tobacco growers and quota owners who have been certified for the Phase II Tobacco Growers Settlement Trust, U.S. Rep. Bart Gordon said.
