TVA Taking Public Comments On Putnam Transmission Line
November 30, 2007, COOKEVILLE – Residents who want to comment on a proposed transmission line east of Cookeville have until Dec. 27 to let Tennessee Valley Authority know their views, announced U.S. Rep. Bart Gordon.
TVA has proposed building a 5.2-mile transmission line in Putnam County. The agency has released a Draft Environmental Assessment for public comment.
“Residents have contacted me with concerns about this line, and now they have an opportunity to let TVA know their views,” said Gordon. “I urge them to take advantage of this comment period.”
The 30-day comment period will end on Dec. 27. Residents can go to TVA's Web site to view the Draft Environmental Assessment and use an online contact form.
Residents may also contact James F. Williamson, Jr. at TVA to make their views known by calling (865) 632-6418 or sending an e-mail to jfwilliamson@tva.gov. Letters can be faxed to (865) 632-3451 or mailed to Mr. Williamson at Tennessee Valley Authority; 400 West Summit Hill Drive; Knoxville, TN 37902.
